Prizes
UNESCO Prizes recognize initiatives that provide sustainable solutions to major global challenges, including promoting gender equality, combating poverty, ensuring access to quality and inclusive education, addressing climate change, and preserving cultural diversity to foster a culture of peace. Endorsed by various Member States, these prizes carry significant symbolic importance and often include a monetary award.
The prizes reflect UNESCO’s four main areas of work: Education, Science (Natural Sciences and Social & Human Sciences), Culture, and Communication & Information.
Within these areas, the prizes focus on key themes such as peace, tolerance, and human rights, literacy and education, protection and promotion of culture and the environment, and scientific research for sustainable development.
